- Do I have to do remediation first?
- Strongly recommended. Maintenance is about protecting work that already exists — if your site has years of unaddressed accessibility issues, you need remediation before maintenance is the right product. We'll tell you which one fits when you contact us.
- What's Sturdly Autopilot?
- It's the proprietary monitoring tool that powers maintenance. Autopilot scans your site every day, flags issues, and either queues them for engineer review (Review mode) or applies pre-approved fixes for low-risk patterns (Autopilot mode). Every change is logged. No overlays, no runtime patches.
- What if my plugins break accessibility?
- We catch it. Daily scans run after every content or code change, so plugin updates that break alt text, focus order, or form labels get flagged within 24 hours. Most regressions get fixed before anyone outside the team sees them.
- Will you make changes without asking?
- By default no. Review mode queues every change for engineer approval. If you want faster turnaround on safe, low-risk fixes (alt text on a new image, missing form label), you can opt in to Autopilot mode — but the change is still logged and you get notified.
- What does the 5 hours of engineering time cover?
- Accessibility-related work: fixing issues the scan finds, helping your team review a new plugin or template, answering accessibility questions from your developer or designer, adjusting the accessibility statement when scope changes. Hours don't roll over.
- Can I cancel?
- Yes, anytime, no contract. Maintenance is month-to-month. We'd rather earn the renewal than lock you in.
