Two clear paths

Start with the path that fits your situation.

Every Sturdly engagement begins with a clear first step: review the report you already have, scan your site for the first time, or get technical help after a demand letter. Pick the one that fits.

You already have your scan report. We will walk you through what was found, what matters most, and what it would take to fix it.

Most business owners find out too late.

A website can look fine and still be difficult or impossible to use with a screen reader, keyboard navigation, zoom, or other assistive technology. That is where risk starts.

Many ADA website claims cite the same kinds of issues:

  • Images without useful alt text
  • Buttons and links without clear names
  • Forms that screen readers cannot understand
  • Menus or popups that do not work by keyboard
  • Low color contrast
  • Broken heading structure
  • Checkout or contact flows that block users

For many WordPress sites, these issues come from years of page builder edits, plugin conflicts, old themes, copied templates, and quick fixes layered on top of each other. The site may not need a tiny patch. It may need a cleaner foundation.

The risk is real. The response should be practical.

Website accessibility lawsuits are not limited to large companies. Small businesses, ecommerce stores, medical practices, restaurants, professional services firms, and local operators are routinely targeted. Federal website accessibility lawsuits reached 3,117 in 2025, up 27% from 2024. California businesses face added exposure because Unruh Act claims can carry statutory damages of at least $4,000 in covered cases. But panic is not a strategy.

The smart move

Show a real, ongoing, good-faith effort. A defensible posture is built from documented work, not from a badge.

Our process

The work, in three parts.

Scan to maintenance, run by the same team, recorded in one timestamped log.

01In focus

Scan / Audit

We review the website for accessibility, code quality, and structural risks, then separate urgent WCAG issues from lower-value noise.

02Upcoming

Remediate

We fix the source code, templates, forms, navigation, components, and content patterns, then validate the work across pages, devices, browsers, and assistive technology.

03Upcoming

Maintain

We monitor regressions, document fixes, and help keep the site safer over time.

WordPress-specific

Built for WordPress sites that have become hard to trust.

A lot of WordPress accessibility problems are not caused by one bad page. They come from the stack. For smaller fixes, we remediate your current site. For deeper issues, we rebuild on a cleaner WordPress foundation.

What goes wrong

Patterns we see on most audits

  • Too many plugins
  • Old themes
  • Page builder bloat
  • Unlabeled forms
  • Inconsistent templates
  • Popups that trap keyboard users
  • Design changes nobody tested
  • Content updates that accidentally break accessibility

A source-level fix is a fix made in the site’s code, theme, template, or content structure — not a front-end overlay.

Who builds this

Built by WordPress engineers, not widget resellers.

Sturdly is run by a team that builds, rebuilds, and maintains WordPress websites. We understand the reality of small business sites: limited budgets, plugin-heavy stacks, old templates, and owners who need practical answers.

You do not need a compliance department. You need someone to tell you what is wrong, what matters, what it costs to fix, and how to keep it from breaking again.

That is the job.

We came to accessibility through the work, not the marketing. Years of maintaining WordPress sites means we have seen what actually breaks under daily use: page builder upgrades that shuffle the DOM, plugin conflicts that strip alt text, theme updates that change focus order overnight.

The answer is not a tool that hides those problems. The answer is a team that fixes them in the source, documents the fix, and watches for regressions tomorrow.

Most businesses do not need ten plans. They need to know whether the site can be remediated or whether it needs a custom scope. Two options, written in plain English.

Product

Powered by Sturdly Autopilot

Sturdly Autopilot is our proprietary WordPress monitoring tool. It scans your site every day, flags new accessibility issues, recommends fixes, and helps our team respond faster.

Review mode

Autopilot scans the site, explains the issue, and queues the recommended fix for engineer approval before anything ships.

Autopilot mode

For pre-approved low-risk categories, Autopilot can apply safe source-level fixes faster while still logging the change and re-scanning the page.

What it tracks
  • The affected page or template
  • The element that triggered the issue
  • The recommended fix
  • Approval status
  • Timestamped change record
  • Re-scan result

No overlays. No runtime patches. Fixes happen at the source.

How we are different

No overlay widgets. No shortcuts that create false confidence.

Some tools add a floating accessibility button to your website and claim to solve compliance automatically. That is not our approach. Sturdly does not rely on front-end overlays. We fix the underlying WordPress site.

An accessibility overlay sits on top of the site at runtime. It cannot rewrite broken HTML, restructure forms, or fix a checkout flow that traps keyboard users.

If the button, form, menu, or checkout flow is broken, we fix the button, form, menu, or checkout flow.

Plain-English version: we change the site itself. We do not paint over the problem.

That is slower than installing a widget. It is also the only approach that actually changes the underlying experience for people using assistive technology.

The team

Built by business owners, not compliance vendors.

We built Sturdly because we are business owners too. We know what it feels like when another technical risk gets added to an already full plate — especially one that can expose the business to legal and financial consequences. We understand the code, the pressure, and the importance of fixing issues before they become expensive.
